Trainer: Delia Marx PhD, Co-Founder, Westchester Cooperative Network
Delia Marx PhD was a professor of Computer Science at Mercy College. Since her retirement, she has devoted her time and efforts to social and environmental causes both locally and abroad. She organized and led tours to Argentina for Global Exchange (globalexchange.org) and WESPAC (where she serves as a board member) exploring the socio-economic situation and in particular the experience of worker-owned cooperatives. After learning about the rich ecosystem of cooperatives existing in NYC, Delia co-founded the Westchester Cooperative Network to promote the cooperative movement in Westchester.
Guest: Mark Fick, Senior Loan Officer, Shared Capital Cooperative
Mark Fick is a Senior Loan Officer with Shared Capital Cooperative where he works with business development, loan underwriting, technical assistance and portfolio management functions of the organization. Shared Capital works to build economic democracy by providing financing throughout the United States to cooperatively owned enterprises including consumer, worker, and producer owned cooperatives. Mark is an active leader with a variety of cooperatively-owned and community-based enterprises, working to build an equitable and democratic economy.
