Historia y Misión
Desde 1997, El Centro de Recursos para Mujeres Empresarias “Women’s Enterprise Development Center, Inc.” (WEDC), una organización sin fines lucrativos ha ofrecido programas de entrenamiento empresarial. La meta del programa es equipar a mujeres con el entrenamiento empresarial y las habilidades personales necesarias para adquirir, expandir y administrar un negocio o microempresa de su propiedad y así realizar auto-suficiencia económica.
Desde 2001, el programa ha proporcionado entrenamiento empresarial y seminarios en español que han resultado en beneficios para mujeres latinas. Actualmente, el Centro trabaja con mujeres de bajos ingresos, mujeres desplazadas de su hogar y sobrevivientes de violencia doméstica.

En Septiembre 2003, WEDC fué autorizado oficialmente por la Administración de Pequeños Negocios de EE.UU. “U.S. Small Business Administration” (SBA) como un Centro de Recursos para Mujeres Empresarias. Adicionalmente, WEDC promueve programas especiales para las empresas o negocios existentes que pertenecen a mujeres.
